BIO:
Ansie Maritz is a lecturer at the Afrikaans and Dutch department of the North-West University and forms part of the UPSET (Understanding and Processing Language in Complex Settings) research entity. She completed her PhD on the linguistic properties of propaganda by conducting a textual analysis. This study contributes to our understanding of whether certain language elements can be seen as characteristic of propaganda as a specific discourse type.
INTERESTS:
Her research interests include discourse analysis, language and politics, language and propaganda and the use of metaphor in these texts.
