Esté Hefer-Jordaan (senior lecturer)

Esté Hefer-Jordaan is a senior lecturer at the School of Languages on the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University and a researcher in the sub-programme Applied Language Studies in UPSET. She holds a PhD in Language Practice on the reading of second language subtitles and is doing continual research on the reading and processing of subtitles within the multilingual South African context through the use of eye-tracking technology. She teaches Language Practice, specialising in Audiovisual Translation (AVT) and Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT).
